Full Design Process
Every garden we create is unique, but our design process follows a trusted pattern. We carefully plan every detail and provide clear documentation and visuals throughout, keeping you involved from beginning to end and ensuring a bespoke design shaped around your needs.

Garden Design Consultation
We begin with an on-site visit to your garden, where we take the time to understand your space, aspirations, and design objectives. After our meeting, we will send you a written brief and a design fee proposal covering the first stage of design, from concept development through to the masterplan.
If you’d like to book a consultation contact us here:

Garden and Landscape Survey
Along with our brief and site photos, we’ll need a topographical survey for all garden designs. This gives us an accurate map of your garden, including buildings, walls, doors and windows (with heights), level changes, existing trees, and any utilities or services.
It’s an important step because it forms the basis for accurate design work and helps with pricing and building your new garden. We don’t have an in-house surveyor, but we’re happy to arrange this for you if needed.

Design to Masterplan
We’ll share our design ideas, inspiration images, mood boards, plans, and sketches with you and talk through them in detail so you can really picture how your finished garden will look. This is a working document that leads to your final Masterplan.
The Masterplan is basically your garden blueprint, showing where everything will go — from hard landscaping and planting to any other features.

3D illustrations
If requested, we can create 3D illustrations of your design to help you visualise the finished scheme, or to support discussions with planning officials and potential buyers.
While 3D visuals aren’t included in our standard design package, we’re very happy to provide them as an additional service.

Detailed Design
At this stage, we’ll guide you through your final material choices and prepare detailed construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, specifications, and schedules for every part of the garden.
This complete drawing package can then be shared with contractors, giving them everything they need to accurately price and build the project. From paving and finishes to lighting and irrigation, every detail is carefully considered to elevate the design from good to exceptional.

Planting Plans
We create detailed planting plans and schedules for your garden. Mood boards help convey the overall look and feel of the scheme, and we can also provide a maintenance schedule so you—or your gardener—feel confident caring for the garden for years to come.

Contractor Tendering
You’re welcome to appoint your own contractors, or we can recommend trusted hard landscaping specialists to help ensure a high-quality finish. If you’d like, we can send your drawings and specifications out to tender on your behalf.
Once the tenders are returned, we’ll prepare a clear tender report so you have all the information you need to confidently choose your contractor.

Garden Build Site Inspections
We offer a site inspection service during the build to take the pressure off you as the client. We visit site to make sure the garden is being built to the correct standards and in line with the agreed drawings and specifications.
This helps maintain the quality of the work and allows us, as designers, to respond quickly to any changes that arise on site or from you. The service can be tailored to suit your project, from a small number of site visits through to regular, minuted meetings with both you and your contractor.
