Dig for health - Don't veg in the house - let's get outside in our gardens

Now many of us have time at home, you might be wondering what to do with yourself. Well if you have a garden, small area outside, or even a window sill, now is a great time to start sowing some vegetable seeds, planting potatoes, or growing your own herbs.

We have just moved into a new house and our garden is a blank canvas. I have decided to leave some space for a vegetable and fruit growing area and integrate some of these into my normal flowers beds. In the next couple of weeks I will be posting my experience of starting food growing at home.

If you are working from home, now is more important than ever to make sure you allocate time to get fresh air and be active. Gardening is perfect for both these things, and it's also great for your mental health and wellbeing.

What's more, in a time of such uncertainty it's the perfect remedy to bring hope. As Audrey Hephurn famously said, "to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow"...
